This panel has been constructed by Sunningwell Command Control Limited (UK Digitrax distributor) to control their demonstration layout. The layout itself has a simple outer loop of OO/HO track, and an inner loop of "N" gauge track inclusing a reverse loop. Each track has sidings and one siding has a block occupancy detector.
The panel is shown operating: the LEDs clearly indicate the route selected through the points. The pushbutton for each point toggles its state. Note that the only wires from the unit are the DCC track input and the LocoNet cable. The wiring to the switches and LEDs inside the panel can't be avoided (see below) but it only goes to the local DTM16 board itself. The panel can be unplugged & moved easily.
For complex layouts where it is necessary to control trackwork from more than one location, there is no reason why several panels can't control the same set of points.
