Automatic Sequence Controllers

The new DSS1 shuttle controller drives trains automatically, but through DCC! It offers the functionality often found with DC controllers for "end to end shuttle" or "station stop" functions, and a lot more. And it's all done through DCC, with no track power switching needed. the train is powered by DCC - and it is told by DCC when to stop!

This unit takes control of a train, and operates it automatically. This might be used to create "background" activity - for example driving a commuter train from one station to another.

The Locoshuutle can do more than just drive the train. It can control points on the journey. This allows a train to select its route out from a station, and back again. If your trains have sound, it can operate the train's whistle at steps in the sequence.

How the DSS1 LocoShuttle works

The Locoshuttle works with LocoNet. to control a train. Unlike a standard throttle, it uses sensors that detect train positions to allow the train to stop and start at particular positions.

The presentation picture below shows a typical sequence. (Refresh the browser screen to make it show again).

Automatic train control via Loconet!

The DSS1 "LocoShuttle" controls automatic train movements on a LocoNet controlled railway. It provides unattended train movements under automatic control, to create "background activity" or to create part of the operating sequence. It behaves like a throttle, but with the train controls done automatically not by an operator. The LocoShuttle can drive one train at a time, and can have 4 stored sequences available for use.

Searching

The web site can be searched: type a search term (e.g. "DAC10") into the search box on the right hand side of the header, and hit enter. the search engine will find words matching the search string in the main body of the site, but it won't search attached documents (e.g. the product manuals).

Font Size

This website offers some help for accessibility. There are three symbols on the top right of the header that allow the font size to be increased or decreased. Choose a size that you find comfortable. "A+" increases the size; "A" sets the default size, and "A-" chooses a smaller size.
