Home Products Accessory Decoders
Accessory Decoders

Our accessory decoders can be used to control points, signals, lighting or other accessories on a DCC controlled railway. This allows your accessories to be controlled by throttles, by pushbuttons or switches, by contro panels or by computer... or by all of these!

These units have high current output to drive point motors. However they are able to drive lighting, relays and other accessories.

DAC10 to DAC20 upgrade

E-mail Print PDF

For existing users of DAC10 boards, it is possible to upgrade the firmware to that of the new DAC20. That will give the advanced control features and LocoNet programming capability.

If you have a DAC10 and it works fine, there is no need to upgrade! For those that do want to upgrade, an upgrade kit can be purchased (currently £10). This includes a new processor chip and a new manual.

A new processor chip will need its serial number setting. The number is marked on the top of the chip, but is not programmed into it. This needs a simple DCC accessory command to set it. The serial number is used only to identify the board for programming using a PC - it does not set the DCC numbers for points etc!
